Full-time Creative Work on a Part-time Schedule |
2009 Portfolio Review Schedule
Listed by Company
Please note: You cannot schedule a review session in advance.
Registration generally takes place onsite and is usually on a first-come, first-served basis
thirty minutes before each session begins. In addition to the upstairs area under the Sails
Pavilion, some companies conduct portfolio reviews at their booths in the Exhibit Hall;
these will be noted as applicable.
Arch Enemy Entertainment
Arch Enemy Entertainment, the company that brings you Tyrese Gibson's Mayhem!
published by Image Comics, is looking for sequential artists, conceptual
artists, and colorists to work on a variety of projects. For sequential artists,
conceptual artists, and colorists, they have quite a few upcoming projects and
want to give the next generation of great artists a chance to have the world see
their work. (Note: They're not looking for inkers at this time.)
| Thursday | PR F | 11:00 AM–3:00 PM |
| Friday | PR F | 3:00 PM–7:00 PM |
| Saturday | PR H | 11:00 AM–3:00 PM |
Cartoon Network Studios
Cartoon Network Studios produces several
animated favorites, including Chowder, Flapjack, and Ben 10:
Alien Force. Cartoon Network's purpose in participating in the review area
is to give you feedback in preparing your portfolio for submission in the
animation industry. They strongly encourage those with action/comic backgrounds
to submit their portfolio for review. Remember to sign up early, as reviewers
were unable to meet last year's demand. While representatives are always happy
to hear from fans, they ask that only artists serious in pursuing a career in
animation and who have taken the time to compile a portfolio targeted to that
goal sign up for time. Please remember that less is more, and pick only your
best work to show. It is recommended that you show samples spotlighting the
position you want to pursue (i.e. character design, storyboard, etc.). That will
help reviewers give you more productive feedback and will make the best use of a
limited amount of time. Due to a scheduling conflict Cartoon Network will be unable
to conduct portfolio reviews on Saturday as shown in the Events Guide
but has added a session on Sunday.
