Are you a writer with a great idea for a comic book series, but you can't draw . . . or maybe you're an artist looking for a great script to draw? Perhaps both of you are looking to jumpstart your careers in comics. At the Alternative Press Expo (APE), you just might find each other!
Each year, APE (along with our sister shows, Comic-Con International and WonderCon Anaheim) hosts the Comic Creator Connection, an event that puts writers and artists together to see whether they can find their creative counterparts. Here's how it works: Writers and artists sit down and meet each other in a neutral environment. In 5-minute sessions, you can talk one-on-one with individual prospective collaborators about their ideas and skills. At the end of each 5-minute period, you will get up and move on to the next person. If you're interested in furthering the conversation, you place your contact info (name and e-mail address) on a supplied card for that prospective partner.
You can sign up for Comic Creator Connection online in advance. Please check back for registration information as we get closer to the event.
(Please note: All participants in APE's Comic Creator Connection must have a single-day badge for the day in which they would like to participate or a 2-day APE badge.)
