A very good place to start...to start learning how to protect your intellectual property rights, that is! Learn the basics of copyright and trademark law in this popular interactive lecture series brought to you by noted attorney Michael Lovitz, author of The Trademark and Copyright Book comic book. This first workshop covers the basics of protection and ownership of ideas, works of authorship, characters, and names from conception through publication and beyond. Attendees will participate in an interactive discussion about basic rights provided under U.S. copyright and trademark laws, as well as new decisions and changes in the law and how they could affect those rights. Along the way, there will be plenty to learn about the protections, and pitfalls, of the U.S. trademark and copyright systems. Note: The Comic Book Law School seminars are designed to provide relevant information and practice tips to practicing attorneys, as well as practical tips to creators and other professionals who may wish to attend. Will Wright is best known for creating the SimCity and The Sims
video game franchises, the latter of which has sold more than 100
million games to date. In 2007, he was given the Vanguard Award from
the Producer’s Guild of America, making him the first person in the
videogame industry to receive such an honor. Wright’s next video game, SPORE, is scheduled for release on September 7. Will Wright will be making his first-ever appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con, where he will be talking about one of the most anticipated games of 2008 – Spore.
He’ll also highlight the MashON SPORE Comic Book Creator, a unique
interactive tool which makes it easy to bring your SPORE creature to

Comedy Central alum Adam de la Peña, creator of Code Monkeys and one of the warped minds behind Crank Yankers and Minoriteam, unveils his new show. De la Peña is joined by Worldwide Biggies CEO Albie Hecht ( SpongeBob SquarePants) and animation director Mark Salisbury ( Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), to give a behind-the-scenes peek into the latest technology used to produce this weekly show.
