2011 Portfolio Review Schedule
Eyes On The Prize!
Comic-Con's Portfolio Review offers advice...and maybe your big break!
Want to put your skills to use for a top comic, animation, special effects,
or design company? Then get that portfolio together and head up to the Portfolio
Review Area, where you'll find industry professionals waiting to critique your
work and answer questions.
The companies listed below reserved portfolio space early. More will be added
as the Con rolls on, so be sure to check the schedule at the Portfolio Review
Information Desk each day.
New Application Procedures
To make the application procedure for Portfolio Review participation more
equitable, the onsite process is as follows (if a company does not already have
different procedures in place):
Portfolio Area grids and company information sheets will be posted daily, no
later than 9:00 AM, in the Portfolio Review area. This information will include
participating companies for that day and their requirements. Applicants are
expected to review this information prior to applying for a Portfolio Review
slot.
- Up to 30 minutes prior to that companys first review time, applicants may fill out a Portfolio Review Sign-up Ticket for the company they wish to see and give it to the CCI Portfolio Review volunteer at the sign-up table.
- CCI Portfolio Review volunteers will randomly draw from the collected tickets for each company, and the applicant names will be listed in the order they were picked. This list of selected participants will be available at that companys booth approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of their review time. It is each applicants responsibility to find his or her place on the list and to be in the Portfolio Review area when his or her name is called.
- A volunteer assigned to the companys booth and will call the names of each participant on the list as needed by the reviewer. A chair will be available next to the volunteer for the next participant to wait in. Each upcoming participant slot name will be called up to three times. If a participant does not answer after his or her name is called the third time, the person will be marked as a no-show, and the next participant on the list will be called.
- If there are more applications than available slots for a companys schedule, the remaining names will be placed on a waitlist in the order in which they were picked.
There is no guarantee that a company will complete its list or waitlist. It
is up to each company to decide whether the list will be continued the next day
or a new list drawing will be held.

Cartoon Network StudiosCartoon Network Studios produces several animated favorites, including Adventure Time,

area is to give you feedback in preparing your portfolio for submission in the animation industry. They strongly encourage those
with action, comedy, and comic backgrounds to submit their portfolio for review. Remember to sign up early, as reviewers were
unable to meet last year's demand. While representatives are always happy to hear from fans, they ask that only artists serious in pursuing a career in animation and who have taken the time to compile a portfolio targeted to that goal sign up for time.
