Important Information Regarding Programs and Autographs at WonderCon


All event and program rooms have limited capacity as set by the Fire Marshal. Even though your badge is needed to get into all events, it does not guarantee you access to any event if it has reached its capacity. We do not clear rooms between events. Most autograph signings are of a limited nature. Your badge does not guarantee autographs at any event.

East Mezzanine - Room 214


WonderCon 2010 offers a number of companies conducting portfolio reviews onsite during the convention. While you might not get any job offers, you will get an honest appraisal of your work and solid tips on what to do next. Please note that these sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis. You cannot schedule reviews in advance.

All sessions take place in Room 214 in the East Mezzanine.


FRIDAY, APRIL 2 — ROOM 214

12:30-2:30 Walt Disney Animation Studios—Walt Disney Animation Studios brings imagination to life through traditional and computer-animated films. The Disney crew is filled with diverse talent from all around the globe whose passion is to create beautiful and timeless films through the art of storytelling, the magic of animation, and the science of cutting-edge technology. Get your portfolio critiqued and hear insights from Disney artistic talent on how to become a part of the team.

2:30-3:30 Aspen Comics Official Portfolio Review—Vince Hernandez, editor-in- chief of Aspen Comics, is on hand to review portfolios, offer advice for aspiring artists, and provide valuable tips for improving your portfolio and samples. Any artists looking to get their foot in the door in the comics industry are welcome to attend.

3:30-4:30 IDW Publishing—Scott Dunbier, special projects editor for IDW Publishing, is reviewing portfolios of aspiring comic artists and offering critiques and advice. Please bring your most recent work, try to limit it to 12 pages, and include a selection showcasing your panel-to-panel progression.

SATURDAY, APRIL 3 — ROOM 214

11:00–12:00 IDW Publishing—Bob Schreck, senior editor at IDW Publishing, is conducting portfolio reviews and providing critiques for aspiring artists seeking professional work. Please bring a portfolio that includes a selection of your best work consisting of pencil renderings of sequential art and/or single illustration paintings only.

12:00–2:00 Aspen Comics Official Portfolio Review—Vince Hernandez, editor-in-chief of Aspen Comics, is on hand to review portfolios, offer advice for aspiring artists, and provide valuable tips for improving your portfolio and samples. Any artists looking to get their foot in the door in the comics industry are welcome to attend.

2:00–4:00 Lucas Licensing Portfolio Review—Troy Alders, art director at Lucas Licensing, is conducting portfolio reviews, providing critiques, and offering tips for aspiring artists. Bring a portfolio selection of your best work and see if you have what it takes to create art for the ever-expanding Lucasfilm galaxy.

4:00–5:00 BOOM! Studios—BOOM! Studios is conducting portfolio reviews, providing critiques, and offering tips for aspiring artists. Bring a portfolio selection of your best work and see if you have what it takes to create comics for one of the hottest comic book companies today!

SUNDAY, APRIL 4 — ROOM 214

2:00–4:00 Lucas Licensing Portfolio Review—Troy Alders, art director at Lucas Licensing, is conducting portfolio reviews, providing critiques, and offering tips for aspiring artists. Bring a portfolio selection of your best work and see if you have what it takes to create art for the ever-expanding Lucasfilm galaxy.
