Video Game Fans in for a Treat at San Francisco's WonderCon
WonderCon, Northern California's largest comic book and popular arts convention,
today unveiled the participation of some of the leading companies in the gaming
world at the February 22-24, 2008 convention to be held in San Francisco.
"It's a tremendous year for WonderCon," said David Glanzer, spokesperson for the
non profit event, "WonderCon's sister show Comic-Con in San Diego is considered
the preeminent pop culture event for directly reaching fans of the comic book,
film, television and video game industries and now WonderCon has joined the
ranks with an astounding list of comics creators, movie and television stars,
and now the very best in the video gaming world joining in the fun."
The world of video games is set to make its mark on WonderCon as they unveil
several of the most anticipated game releases with sneak peeks, demonstrations
and special guest appearances.
Electronic Arts has created a comic book based on their sci-fi horror brand Dead
Space and artist Ben Templesmith (
30 Days of Night) will be on hand to discuss
his work introducing the universe to comic book fans. Templesmith and writer
Antony Johnston will also be signing the new Dead Space comic book at the
EA/Image booth for a limited time at the show.
Capcom will put fans in control with hands-on demonstrations of the yet to be
released Okami and We Love Golf games for the Wii and Lost Planet for PS3, plus
current titles, Devil May Cry 4 for PS3 & Xbox 360, as well as Resident Evil:
Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii.
Haden Blackman, Project Lead for LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, will
give the crowd an update on the game, billed as the next chapter in the Star
Wars Saga. The Force Unleashed is set during the largely unexplored era between
the two movie trilogies, casts players as Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice, and
promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy.
Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers will showcase, for the
first time to the public, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and LOST: Via Domus,
the video game that allows fans to take their addiction with the LOST television
series to the next level.
To top it off, Telltail Games will be demonstrating the latest Sam & Max game
and showing a sneak peek of the Sam & Max animated series DVD scheduled for
release on March 11.
With all this it's no surprise that WonderCon is now one of the most eagerly
anticipated shows for gaming fans.
WonderCon will be held Friday though Sunday, February 22 -24 2008 at Moscone
