Lucasfilm Ltd. to Host Special Events at WonderCon in San Francisco

WonderCon (February 10 –12, 2006), Northern California’s largest comics and pop culture event will play host to a number of special events by Lucasfilm Ltd., the company behind the wildly popular Star Wars franchise.

Lucas Licensing Portfolio Review

On Friday, February 10, 2006, Troy Alders, Art Director at Lucas Licensing, will conduct portfolio reviews, provide critiques, and offer tips for aspiring artists.

Special Presentation: Star Wars Saga – There’s More to Come! - with Steve Sansweet.

On Saturday, February 11, 2006, Steve Sansweet, head of Fan Relations at Lucasfilm, will share what’s on the horizon from the talented crews at Lucasfilm, LucasArts, Lucas Animation, and Industrial Light & Magic. “Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith” the biggest box office movie of 2005, may be out on DVD, but the saga is far from over.

Lucasfilm to Present Prize for Best Star Wars Costume at Masquerade

On Saturday, February 11, 2006, 7:30 p.m., Lucasfilm will present a special prize chosen from the Lucasfilm Licensing archives to the entrant with the best costume in the Star Wars category at the second annual WonderCon Masquerade.

Star Wars Fan Films: Dark Side or Light?

On Saturday, February 11, 2006, after the Masquerade, join Lucasfilm for a friendly competition between “Dark Side” and “Light Side” Star Wars fan films. These short movies are selected from the best finalists in Lucasfilm and AtomFilms’ Star Wars Fan Film competition. Now in its fifth year, the competition recognizes outstanding achievements in fan films, with the top prize each year chosen by Star Wars writer/director George Lucas. Come and show your support for the Light side of the Force or the Dark! Those on the winning side will take home a Star Wars souvenir of the evening.

WonderCon is produced by Comic-Con International a non profit educational organization dedicated to creating awareness of and appreciation for comics and related popular art forms primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.
