A LOOK BACK AT WONDERCON 2007
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WonderCon 2007 blasts off early with confirmed special guests!
Don’t miss the return of the Bay Area’s biggest comics and pop culture event!
Coming off its biggest year ever in 2006, WonderCon is already starting to heat
up for next year! The dates are March 2, 3 and 4, 2007 as the big show
returns to Moscone Center in the heart of San Francisco. In 2007, the event
moves into the spacious Moscone Center South building and we’re already lining up
an incredible guest list.
Confirmed for WonderCon 2007 are:
Tony Harris
He came out of nowhere with one of the most exciting superhero concepts in
comics, Starman, collaborating with writer/co-creator James Robinson.
Now Tony Harris has done it again with writer/co-creator Brian K. Vaughan on
WildStorm’s Ex Machina, the story of the man who saved the second
World Trade Center tower from falling and went on to become the first
super-powered mayor of New York City. Harris’ exciting art adds a powerful
layer to the real-world politics of this ground-breaking series.
Phil Jimenez
Coming off the incredible success of this year’s Infinite Crisis
from DC, Phil Jimenez is one of the hottest artists working in comics today.
The rumor is he has another top-secret project brewing at DC, with
Infinite Crisis writer Geoff Johns onboard, too. Jimenez’s work also
includes a long stint on Wonder Woman and work on the X-Men.
Patrick McDonnell
His daily dose of Mutts entertains and charms readers all over the
world. Patrick McDonnell has been chronicling the exploits of Earl, Mooch,
Stinky, Ozzie and the whole gang for more than 10 years now, appearing daily
and in full, glorious color on Sundays in a newspaper near you. If there’s
any one comics strip that gives Charles Schulz’s great Peanuts a run
for the money, it’s the charming Mutts. McDonnell is also an expert
on the comics strip field, with a book on George Herriman and Krazy Kat.
Linda Medley
The creator of the fan-favorite fantasy series Castle Waiting is
back with a beautiful hardbound collection of the entire past run plus all
new stories published by Fantagraphics! Linda Medley started her comics
career on books like Justice League Europe and Wonder Woman
and is also recognized as one of the best colorists in the field, but she
found her true calling when she created Castle Waiting.
Brian K. Vaughan
One of the best writers working in the comics industry today, Brian K.
Vaughan keeps enthralls readers with his work on Y: The Last Man
for Vertigo, Ex Machina for WildStorm and Runaways for Marvel.
His latest work is the upcoming graphic novel Pride of Baghdad,
about a pride of lions which escaped from the Baghdad Zoo when the U. S.
invaded Iraq in 2003.
