The Comic-Con Museum is teaming up with Josh Agle, the prolific artist known as Shag and The Shag Store, to present a look at his works, methods and career. Imbued with a distinctive attitude and sly sense of humor the works of Shag blend Pop Culture, Tiki Culture and the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic to create unique pieces that are unmistakably of our time, but reminiscent of animation and commercial art from the fifties and sixties.
The exhibit will showcase prints, originals and a sampling of his books and merchandise created throughout his career in a gallery touched by the same wry and colorful sense of retro decadence that features so prominently in the pieces on display.
Admission is free to the public from 10am – 4pm on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22 at the future home of the Comic-Con Museum. Address is 2131 Pan American Plaza, San Diego, CA 92101
