Special Edition Fun Book 5: “Patty-Jo ‘N’ Ginger” 75th Anniversary

Event Date:
Friday, July 24, 2020 - 11:00am

Today, we're highlighting the 75th Anniversary of “Patty-Jo 'N' Ginger”! The popular single-panel cartoon ran from 1945–1956 in the Pittsburgh Courier and was written by Will Eisner Hall of Fame recipient Jackie Ormes, the first syndicated African American woman cartoonist. Check out our Patty-Jo Paper Doll activity (a nod to Ormes’ Patty-Jo doll), an illustration prompt to draw Ms. Ormes in your own style, a maze featuring Patty-Jo and Ginger, and more! Plus, learn more about Jackie Ormes and all of her works by tapping on the “5 Facts” highlights on the Comic-Con Museum Instagram profile @comicconmuseum, and check out our current Instagram story for a "Design a Dress for Patty-Jo" template!
