#02 WonderCon at the Los Angeles Convention Center!
WonderCon 2016 takes place March 25–27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, located at 1201 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90015. While this is our first Los Angeles Comic-Con, you can expect all the great things that have made both WonderCon and Comic-Con International world famous: A giant Exhibit Hall filled with comics and pop culture exhibitors, including top comics publishers, and hundreds of retailers; a weekend-long programming schedule focusing on comics, movies, television, animation, workshops, special guest spotlight panels, plus much more; a complete schedule of Anime and Children’s Film Festival screenings; space to play Games, both in the LACC during the daytime and our headquarters hotel, the JW Marriott, next door at night; and, of course, the Masquerade, now in it’s 12th year at WonderCon.
We've updated our WonderCon 2016 at the Los Angeles Convention Center maps on March 8, 2016.
The Los Angeles Convention Center is made up of 3 levels. Click on the map above for a larger view on your screen, or click here to download the PDF map.
LOWER LEVEL: South and West Lobbies (where you come in off the street)
LEVEL ONE: South Hall (WonderCon Exhibit Hall), West Hall (WC Badge Pick-up), Concourse Hall (Program Rooms 150, 151, 152), and Petree Hall.
LEVEL TWO: Program Rooms (403AB, 408AB, 411, 502A, 502B, 515A, 515B) Click on the map below for a larger view on your screen or click here to download a PDF map of the Level Two Program Rooms.
Our big programming room for WonderCon 2016 is the Microsoft Theater, located in LA LIVE next to the Convention Center. This is the same venue that hosts major events such as The Grammys. We’ll be using the Microsoft Theater all 3 days for movie and TV programs, and Saturday night’s Masquerade. Please note that the Microsoft Theater utilizes metal detectors at their entrances, so allow more time to get into that special panel or event that you want to see, as you will be passing through the detectors on your way in.
Additional nighttime events will be held at the official WonderCon Headquarters Hotel, the JW Marriott, also located in LA LIVE. Starting at 7:00 PM on Friday and Saturday nights, visit our nighttime Anime screening room, Games, and Hospitality Suite. All 3 of these are in the Diamond Ballroom on Level 3 of the JW Marriott’s Ballroom building, which is connected to the main hotel building (see map).
You will need your WonderCon badge to visit all Los Angeles Convention Center events, including the Exhibit Hall and program rooms, the Microsoft Theater, and the JW Marriott rooms. This year, WonderCon will be utilizing RFID badges, so you will be required to tap in and tap out at various locations. More on our RFID badges in a Toucan Tip next week! (Please note: we will NOT be mailing WonderCon 2016 badges out in advance; all badges must be picked up onsite.)
Badges will be available online only and not sold onsite at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
