Comic-Con has an ongoing tradition of publishing a free Souvenir Book each year, which goes to each and every attendee, while supplies last. This year is no exception, and since we can’t make sure all of you reading this will get a copy, we’d like to share a small excerpt (along with the incredible cover by illustrator Matt Taylor) from this year’s book. The Marvel Cinematic Universe was launched in 2008 with the introduction of Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. and directed by Jon Favreau, but the MCU had its beginnings with fans at Comic-Con in Hall H as early as 2006! Writer Shane Snoke explores those roots—and what came after—in this feature article from this year’s Souvenir Book, which also includes an interview with Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed and exclusive photos from some of the Hall H appearances of the MCU and its stars.
