TOUCAN TIP OF THE DAY #25

More Info Than You Can Possibly Imagine: The Quick Guide and Daily Newsletter and the Ins and Outs of MySchedule

Every morning in the 30 days leading up to Comic-Con (from June 18 to July 17), we’re going to offer our “Toucan Tip of the Day,” a tiny tidbit of terrific information that we hope will help you enjoy the show just a little bit better. Sign up for our RSS feed (click the button on the right sidebar) to get all of our tips and stay informed on upcoming news about Comic-Con 2013! To view all of our Toucan Tips, please click on the “Tip of the Day” link under Categories at the top of our sidebar on the right.

We’ve posted our online edition of the Comic-Con International 2013 Quick Guide, which is a print publication given free to each attendee while supplies last. The Quick Guide is bound into the center of each copy of the Events Guide, the official Comic-Con schedule of programs and events. The QG (as we call it when we’re lazy with our typing) contains maps of the Convention Center—including the giant (almost 3’ wide!) foldout Exhibit Hall map—and hotels, the complete exhibitor listing (including Artists’ Alley, Fan Tables, and the Small Press Area), and the complete Programming Grid. For more information about the Quick Guide, click here.

Our online edition is a slightly edited version that includes current information from the time the publication went to press. Please note that this online version will NOT be updated before Comic-Con. Your best bet for updated program information is the daily Program schedule pages, plus the individual pages for Anime, Autographs, Games, and Portfolio Review. These website pages will be updated on a regular basis.

The online edition of the Quick Guide does not include the Exhibit Hall map. Please click here to view that.

Also available onsite is the official Comic-Con 2013 Newsletter. This daily color publication (available Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings) features updated information that came in too late for our publications, the daily schedule grids (with any updates), and photos and info from the day before (including Eisner Awards and Masquerade results). Look for it in racks near the doors to the Exhibit Hall, upstairs in the Sails Pavilion, near the registration desks, and at the top of the escalator above Hall D, near Ballroom 20. Also available in those racks: A separate edition of the Quick Guide section of the Events Guide!

Finally, our friends at Sched.org have prepared a special video to walk you through all the great features of MySchedule. It’s short—about two and a half minutes—so we urge you to take the time and watch it and learn how to maximize this service … you’ll be glad you did! Click here to view this video, or look for the link on top of each Comic-Con schedule page.
