Our Second Comic-Con 50 Logo Is Here!
As you may have heard (because we’ve been kinda chatty about it), 2019 marks Comic-Con’s 50th event! Started in 1970 in the basement of the U.S. Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego, Comic-Con grew from an excited crowd of 300 fans to the giant that it is today! Moving from those humble beginnings to the El Cortez to the Performing Arts Center and—in 1991— the San Diego Convention Center, Comic-Con has become a comics convention staple and a worldwide phenomenon.
A few months ago, we introduced our first logo that celebrates Comic-Con 50, our 2019 celebration for our 50th event. Now here’s our second one, a more “modern” take on the Comic-Con 50 concept (as opposed to our classic, retro one, illustrated by Garbage Pail Kids artist John Pound). We can’t exactly reveal at this point where and when you’ll be seeing this logo, but stay tuned for some exciting announcements about Comic-Con 50, as we kick off the celebration before the July convention!
