SAM: Free Tickets Still Available for Next Saturday's Event

Comic-Con Presents SAM, Storytelling Across Media, Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park

Happy October, local Comic-Con fans!

As you’re getting ready to repurpose your Comic-Con cosplay for Halloween, don’t forget about the amazing treat we’ve been cooking up for you in our very own backyard.!

If you haven’t heard about Comic-Con’s newest show, SAM: Storytelling Across Media, you’ve been missing out! For one day only, you have the chance to attend the same types of panels put together for San Diego Comic-Con for FREE at SAM.

SAM is a one-day symposium about storytelling. This show, composed of a series of talks, will include industry experts across comics, gaming, animation, movies, and more. Whether you’re an industry professional or someone who hopes to break into the field (or just someone who loves to learn more about the storytelling process), you’re in for a treat if you come to the future home of the Comic-Con Museum, located at 2131 Pan American Plaza in Balboa Park, on November 3. It’s no trick!

Don’t miss a chance to attend a professional panel in an intimate setting and earn entry to the exclusive mixer afterward, reserved only for panelists and attendees (while space is available).

Our special guests for this show include Julie and Shawna Benson (writers for The 100, Wu Assassins [TV series], and Green Arrow [comics series]), Jim Lee (publisher-CCO of DC Comics and artist for Justice League and Superman Unchained [comics series]), and J. Michael Straczynski (writer for Thor, Amazing Spider-Man [comics], Babylon 5, Sense8 [TV], Changeling, and World War Z [movies]). Click here for more info on our special guests and our panel participants!

But that’s not all! Aside from our special guests, you’ll also get to hear from many more industry professionals across the panels we offer:

For the all the panel descriptions on one page, check out our SAM Program Schedule page.

Seating is limited for this event, so we recommend registering online now to save your seat.

But if your desired panel is full, fret not, little ghosts and goblins. You may still have a chance to see it! Come on by the Museum on November 3, and get in the standby line. You never know whom you might meet and what connections you might make …

We’re really excited to be able to bring this experience to our local fans, writers, and artists free of charge, and we hope to see your eager faces there for an enlightening day of storytelling-oriented discussions!

Parking is free in Balboa Park, but fills up quickly on weekends. A map showing the locations of the nearest parking lots will be posted later next week.
