A Super-Powered December Nights at the Comic-Con Museum
The Comic-Con Museum will be free and open to the public during December Nights at Balboa Park. A special holiday treat is in store for those who wish to visit the Museum. On Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7, from 2:00–9:00 PM, enjoy pop culture-focused holiday programming, which will include family-oriented arts and crafts activity stations, film screenings of popular holiday classics, and more!
The Art of Shag Exhibit and Meet & Greet
The Comic-Con Museum has teamed up with Josh Agle, the artist known as Shag. The works of Shag blend pop culture, tiki culture and the mid-century aesthetic to create unique pieces. Shag will be onsite Friday, December 6 from 6:00–8:00 PM at “The Art of Shag Presented by The Shag Store” exhibit to mingle with guests, sign memorabilia and ring in the holidays at the Comic-Con Museum! The Art of Shag Exhibit will be open from 2:00–9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
Shag is the first artist to be featured in the Comic-Con Museum and has created an exclusive, hand numbered and signed limited edition print to celebrate this partnership (only 175 were made). A few copies of “The Thrilling Threesome, Plus One” remain and will be available for a donation to the Comic-Con Museum (minimum donation: $300 to receive the print). It’s the perfect holiday gift for the pop culture fan in your life (including yourself)!
Several holiday-inspired films will be screened through the course of the weekend and are available with an onsite standby line. Some of the movies will include, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone, Die Hard, and more! Please note that we will have limited seating and guests can attend on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Additional Activities at the Comic-Con Museum During December Nights
Holiday Edition Art Show
View creative works of art from local San Diego artists, which will be on display all weekend long! The show will feature several San Diego based artists with work varying from digital art, sculpture, paintings, and more.
Family Activity Area
There will also be a family activity area offering several arts and craft stations including make-your-own comics, pop culture snowflakes, cardboard superhero equipment and more! Among the activities there will be a face-painting station, open from 5:00–8:00 PM on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Science Fiction Coalition
Take photos with your favorite pop culture heroes for the holidays! Your friendly neighborhood cosplayers will be onsite to entertain and hang out with all of our guests this weekend.
Charter Membership and Museum Information
If you haven’t heard about our Charter Membership program or if you’d like to learn more about the Comic-Con Museum, our Museum staff and volunteers will be available all weekend to chat and answer any questions you might have.
New December Nights Comic-Con Museum T-Shirt
December Nights just got even more exciting! This year we will have a limited edition holiday-themed T-shirt available with a $25 donation to the Comic-Con Museum on both Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7 from 2:00–9:00 PM. T-shirts will only be available for pick-up at the Comic-Con Museum during these hours!
