Welcome to 2018!
We hope all of you are getting back into the swing of things after a great holiday break! We’re getting ready for the 2018 editions of both WonderCon Anaheim (our 32nd year!) and Comic-Con International (our 49th year!). It’s already been a busy January, so let’s recap a bit and tell you what’s coming up later this month here on Toucan and throughout the official Comic-Con and WonderCon website.
WonderCon Anaheim 2018 Badges and Hotel Reservations Are Now Available!
You’ll want to be a part of this great show, to be held March 23–25 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Comic-Con’s sister show has everything that makes the “big” event so great: A giant Exhibit Hall, a full programming schedule—including workshops, seminars, comic publishers and movie and TV studios presentations—plus a 3-day Children’s Film Festival, the Masquerade, Anime screenings, Comic Creator Connection, portfolio reviews, and much more! Plus, WonderCon is held in Anaheim, a great Southern California destination, featuring a beautiful convention center with a brand-new building. Anaheim is a lot like San Diego … you come out of the center after a fun day of convention-going and you’re surrounded with great restaurants and shopping destinations to go to (plus … the Disneyland Resort, featuring Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Park, is literally just steps away!). Why not make it a WonderCon Weekend and lock in that 3-day badge now and book a hotel room? Remember … WonderCon badges are available online only. No badges will be sold onsite, and the convention always sells out!
WonderCon Anaheim 2018 Special Guests
We have a great line-up of WonderCon Anaheim 2018 badges confirmed for this year’s event. (click here to see the current list), and we’ll be announcing more guests next week.
WonderCon Anaheim 2018 Masquerade
If you’re interested in being a contestant in the WonderCon Masquerade, you can now register (click here), plus take a look at all of the 2017 contestants and winners in our exclusive photo gallery (click here)! The Masquerade is WonderCon’s big Saturday night event in the Arena … all you need is a badge good for Saturday to attend; like all programming at the show, it’s free with your paid admission!
Comic-Con International 2018
We’re gearing up to start announcing our Comic-Con 2018 special guests later this month, along with a massive photo gallery looking back at the 2017 show … stay tuned for both those things!
In addition, we just posted the Comic-Con Art Show Official Rules and Entry Form for the 2018 event, which will once again take place at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel. The Art Show is open to the public, too … no Comic-Con badge is needed to attend. Download the official entry form by clicking here!
Also, later this month, we’ll be launching our 2018 Souvenir Book anniversary celebrations and themes. And we’re already working on an amazing cover for this year’s book, which will make it an instant, double-bag, mind-blowing, collectors’ item!
Don’t forget … if you know you have a Comic-Con 2018 badge, you can book a hotel room now in our Early Bird Hotel Sale. The sale includes hotels in the Mission Valley and Airport area (most of them on the Comic-Con FREE Shuttle route!). But only reserve a room if you already have that badge … this sale is non-refundable! Click here for complete details.
As always, the Comic-Con website (and Toucan!) are your first and foremost choice for OFFICIAL Comic-Con and WonderCon news, including the complete program schedules for each show (released about 2 weeks prior to the event), exclusive first-looks at our covers and official merchandise, and much, much more.
