You Can Draw with Katie Cook 019: How to Draw a Mustached Octopus!

You know what octopi lack? Facial hair. I really think they could use some … don’t you?

Step 1:

Pencils out! First up, draw a circle.

Step 2:

Now draw some wiggly bits … those will be his hands … er, tentacles. This is a cartoon, don’t bother trying to fit in all 8 unless you’re feeling super ambitious.

Step 3:

Eyes! Mustache! Eyesbrows! Is this octopus from Portland? If so, you should probably add a full beard.

Step 4:

Ink! Go over your lines and erase your pencils.

Step 5:

Color! OMG HE’S SO CUTE. I WANT TO SMOOSH HIS SLIMY, FUZZY FACE!
