More Guests Announced for WonderCon

WonderCon 2024 welcomes Jeff Dekal, Tony Isabella, Jimmie Robinson, and Gail Simone as Special Guests, along with the 15 previously announced guests.

Jeff Dekal

Jeff Dekal is a freelance illustrator who was born and raised in South Florida. Drawing since childhood, the introduction to graffiti while in high school gave the first serious meaning to Jeff’s art and is also where he adopted the alias “Dekal.” After being educated about art history in college he began working as an illustrator, drawing album covers for indie musicians and illustrating editorial articles for local newspapers and magazines. He slowly worked his way into the comics industry and has now become a prominent cover artist for publishers including AWA, Marvel, DC, Image, BOOM!, Creature Entertainment, Heavy Metal, and Valiant.

Tony Isabella

Tony Isabella is the creator/writer of Black Lightning, co-creator of Misty Knight and Tigra, and writer of Captain America, Champions, Daredevil, Dracula, Ghost Rider, Grim Ghost, Hawkman, Iron Fist, Last Kiss, The Living Mummy, Luke Cage, Spider-Man, Star Trek and many others. Isabella started at Marvel on Halloween, 1972. He wrote lots of stories. He also edited various magazines. At DC, he created Black Lightning, the company’s first headline Black superhero. The character had a weekly, live-action series on the CW for four years. He’s won awards, written comics history books and novels, ghosted comics strips, and lectured at libraries and schools.

Jimmie Robinson

Jimmie Robinson is a creator, writer, and artist for numerous comic book series and graphic novels with a career spanning over 25 years. Published by Image Comics, Shadowline, and Marvel Entertainment, Robinson has been a pioneer in self-creating and ownership and has been a powerful voice in the independent comics community. His work spans dozens of titles, from all-ages to heavy social issues, including Bomb Queen, Five Weapons, The Empty, Junk Rabbit, and his upcoming graphic novels ARTillery and Soul Feud.

Gail Simone

Gail Simone is a fan-favorite award-winning writer of comics, games, and animation. She is known for her comics work on such titles as Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Deadpool, and Secret Six. Her animation work includes Tomb Raider, My Little Pony, and Justice League Unlimited. Her first novel comes out this year.
