PAID PARKING IN BALBOA PARK
- Visitors may use the new Balboa Park payment portal to purchase monthly, quarterly, or annual parking passes. City of San Diego residents may register in advance as verified residents to receive discounted daily rates and parking passes; registration requires entering a vehicle license plate number and proof of residency.
- Parking passes are available for both verified City of San Diego residents and non-residents, with non-residents paying a higher rate. For visitors not purchasing a pass, parking meter kiosks are available throughout the park at a rate of $2.50 per hour. Daily parking fees in lots range from $5 to $16.
- Free parking is available for up to three hours in the Lower Inspiration Point lot on Presidents Way, and a complimentary shuttle service operates from this location to other areas of the park from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- ADA accessible parking continues to be free, with no time limit, at parking meters in and near Balboa Park for those with a Disabled Person license plate or placard. Free ADA parking is also available in the parking lots while parked in the blue parking spaces marked for disabled parking.
- Paid parking is enforced daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the exception of the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
- Parking meters are located on roads within Balboa Park, including Balboa Drive, El Prado, Juniper Road, Presidents Way, Quince Drive, Zoo Drive, and Village Place, as well as on select adjacent streets. Meter rates are $2.50 per hour, up to $10 per day, and accept credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or coins. Visitors may also use the Park Smarter App for mobile payment.
