Beware of Badge Scams

As demand for Comic-Con badges continues to grow, unfortunately so do the number of scams and fraudulent sellers. First, you should be aware of a few key details about our badges:

• Badges are not transferable and cannot be exchanged:
  Our badges are intended only for the person who originally purchased them. If you didn’t buy your badge directly through us, we strongly advise against buying one elsewhere. 
• The name on the badge must match a legal photo ID:
  ID checks are performed at random during the convention. If your photo ID does not match the name on your badge, your badge may be confiscated.
• Badges are equipped with RFID technology:
  This allows us to manage entry and verify the badge’s validity. Each badge is linked to the original badge holder.

It is very unlikely that sites claiming to sell Comic-Con badges—whether they call themselves official, unofficial, authorized, or “fan-to-fan” exchanges—are affiliated with Comic-Con. We do not work with brokers or resellers. If you purchase badges from any unauthorized source, we will not be able to assist you when problems arise. 

The best way to ensure your badge is valid is to purchase directly from us or to secure one through Comic-Con Museum’s LEGEND membership.
