10:00–11:30  Comic-Con Film School 103: Working with Actors and a Crew—Day 3 of this course on microbudget moviemaking deals with how to direct actors, organize a crew, and keep everyone happy without anybody making any money. Presenters will even raffle off some sweet DVDs! Panelists include Valerie Perez (producer/star of the Paula Peril series), Michael Scott (director/star of Ryan vs. Dorkman), Sean Rourke (writer/director of 1st Person Shooter), and actors Susan Smythe, Brian Stevenson, Kat Steel, Jack Conway, and Brad Upton.

Humor/Parody

11:30–11:45 Twelve—For some office workers the 9 to 5 can be a real drag -- but not for those who count down the hours until the next Bauer Power Hour. An office's obsession with the television show 24 goes haywire as the workers' obsessions kick into high gear with the season finale approaching. Part The Office part 24, this parody mash-up introduces a novel send-up of these pop culture staples. Participating panelists include writer/director Ryan Silbert and writer/producer Bradley Werner.

12:05–12:25 Go Sukashi!—From the creative minds of Japanese Pop Star Shoko Nakagawa and those Sockbaby guys comes the quixotian tale of the earth's greatest sand dollar superhero. The panel will consist of Comic-Con special guest Doug TenNapel (Earthworm Jim), along with Brooke Brodack (YouTube's Brookers), John Soares (Battle Jitni), Justin Spurlock (Sockbaby), and Hal Forsstrom (Hot Tub Time Machine).

12:25–12:45 The New Dad's Survival Guide—Peter is about to embark on the wonderful journey of Fatherhood. Let us join him in this step-by-step guide to taking care of your baby that every new dad needs to know. Participating panelists include writer/director Michael Chen (A Christmas Tale) and narrator Jacob Keebler (creator of Fancy Voices and Awesome Man).

12:45–1:15 Walk—When Scott is run over by a car and dies, he ends up in purgatory. When he finds out his soul is hellbound for the rest of eternity, he doesn't take the news lightly. This prompts him to do the only natural thing to do: run...run like his life depends on it -- because it does. Joe Gallina, writer/director of the short, will present his film.

1:15–1:50 The Substitute—John is a young white insurance hotshot who's got it all . . . and knows it every time he looks in the mirror. What he doesn't know is that his reflection has had enough! John wakes up one day to find that he has a "substitute reflection," a black guy named Chris who just won't leave him alone! It goes without saying, John's in for a wild ride! Participating panelists include director Andrew Cox, producers Michael Campbell, Robert Campbell, and Elysia Yeary, and first assistant director Chase Fleming.

1:50–2:25 Thunder Chance—For centuries, the neighboring nations of military Zambonia and intellectual Kanjabi have been at each others' throats -- until today, when their leaders have finally agreed to sit down for a peace meeting in the no-man's land that runs along their border. Problem is, the UN negotiator has been delayed. When world-record-holding adventurer Jonas "Thunder" Chance lands nearby and mistakes them for his fans, some unorthodox diplomacy might just ignite an explosion. Participating panelists include writer/director/producer Sean-Michael Smith, actor Jaret Sacrey, editor Cristina Malavenda, cinematographer Jay Visit, and producer Chris Cloyd.

2:25–4:00 Herpes Boy—A social outcast with a facial birthmark accidentally becomes an unwilling Internet celebrity with an unfortunate nickname after a series of comedic manipulations by his fame-hungry cousin. Participating panelists include Beth Grant, Donnie Darko; Byron Lane, Herpes Boy web series; Nathaniel Atcheson, director of Herpes Boy; M. Elizabeth Hughes, producer of Herpes Boy; Benjamin Kantor, director of photography for Herpes Boy.

4:00–5:00 Panel: Writing Action-Packed and Character-Driven Stories—Chris Huntley (Dramatica Story Theory) discusses exploring the eight essential questions of character and plot. Does your main character change his essential nature or stay the course? How do characters grow? What brings your story to a climax? Does your story end in tragedy, triumph, or somewhere in between? Find out the answers to these questions and ask some of your own! Marriott Hall 1&2

Science Fiction/Fantasy

5:00–5:25 Mr. Bojagi—Legendary British actor Brian Blessed (Flash Gordon) stars as Mr. Bojagi, a mysterious man with a mind-reading machine who helps people choose the perfect gifts for their loved ones. But when The Woman enters his office, will she be able to face what the machine reveals?

5:25–6:25 Enigma—Floating dead in space, transport ship Genesis becomes an unsolvable mystery. All hands on board have been killed, but how, and why? Follow as we look back to the mission and see if you can discover the enigma. Participating panelists include directors Matt Shumway (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Incredible Hulk) and Jason Shumway (True Hollywood Stories), composer Jermaine Stegall, actress Iris Corliss, and D.J. Lynch (SpongeBob SquarePants).

6:25–8:10 Hunter Prey—Hunter Prey centers on a group of elite, intergalactic commandos transporting an alien prisoner. Crash-landed on a harsh, unknown planet, they must track and recapture the escaped creature alive. For the one soldier remaining, the creature's game changes his thinking about himself as he finds out who's really hunting whom. Participating panelists: Sandy Collora (Batman: Deadend), Daren Hicks (Transformers 1, 2, 3), and Simon Tams (Repo Chick).

8:10–9:25 Stingray Sam—A dangerous mission reunites Stingray Sam with his long lost accomplice, The Quasar Kid. Follow these two space convicts as they earn their freedom in exchange for the rescue of a young girl being held captive by the genetically designed figurehead of a very wealthy planet. Participating panelists include Cory McAbee (The American Astronaut).

9:25–10:55 A Time for the Heart—A mysterious time anomaly strands a young woman from 1887 in the present day. An introspective race to return her to her normal time ensues as her fate joins with a present-day man she deeply loves. Participating panelists include director Christopher Allen; actors Laura Hammer, Chris Spurgin, and Scott Ganyo; executive producer Mark Racop, and executive producer/actor David Briggs.

10:55–12:20 I (Heart) DoomsdayThe story of the twisted and brilliant scientist Maxillian von Max (Dan Beirne, The Bitter End, Trotsky) and his lover/assistant Tatiana Vlaskovsky (Gemini award–winner Christine Ghawi, Celine), whose lives are torn apart after a terrible doomsday device mishap leaves him horribly maimed, and her with total amnesia. Max builds an android, called the A#1, in his own image to reestablish relations with the memory-less Tatiana in hopes of reigniting any awareness of their former life together. However, the robot and Tatiana fall in love, leaving a jealous, homicidal Max in the lurch, creating a weird love triangle of apocalyptic proportions.
