Hotel Reservations

If you’re joining us at Comic-Con, we have several opportunities for you to book your stay. Whether you’re here to explore panels, meet fellow fans, or shop for collectibles, a hotel room offers the perfect base for your Comic-Con adventure.

Hotel Sales

Traditionally, three hotel sales take place leading up to Comic-Con. In the fall, our first sale features accommodations in the Mission Valley and Airport areas, often with early booking incentives.

Spring brings our most sought-after hotel event: the Downtown Hotel Sale. Due to high demand, this sale operates through a virtual waiting room, where you can fill out a hotel reservation request form for your chance to book a stay in the heart of the action.

A few weeks following the Downtown Hotel Sale, reservations will open for all remaining hotels on a first-come, first-served basis.

Below is a quick overview of our hotel sale events. Each sale offers unique opportunities to secure accommodations at some of the best locations in San Diego.

Early Bird Hotel Sale

This sale included hotels in the Mission Valley and Airport areas, all on the complimentary Comic-Con Shuttle route! As an added bonus, some of our Early Bird hotels also include incentives for booking early.

Staying in the Mission Valley or Airport areas is a great way to save time and money. Lock in your hotel reservation today, but please keep this in mind: Only book a room IF you have a Comic-Con 2025 badge! Early Bird Hotel reservations are full prepay and NON-REFUNDABLE.

The Early Bird Hotel Sale is a great way to ensure you have a hotel reservation for Comic-Con 2025! Downtown hotels are limited and in much higher demand during the Downtown Hotel Sale.

Downtown Hotel Sale

Each year, hotel rooms for Comic-Con sell out in a matter of minutes and downtown hotels are in high demand.

The Downtown Hotel Sale for Comic-Con 2025 took place Wednesday, April 9, 2025. To allow attendees to prepare for opening day, a sample version of the form was provided ahead of the sale. The remaining information in this section provides a general description of what to expect in sales for future years.

On the day of the sale, you’ll enter the virtual waiting room within a designated time frame. Everyone in the waiting room will be assigned a random place in line, and guests will then be moved from the waiting room to the hotel reservation request form based on this order. There will also be an option to place your request over the phone during that time. Guests joining the waiting room after the sort will be placed behind the sorted list.

Once all request forms have been submitted, forms will be processed based on the time a user was granted access to the form—NOT the time when the form was submitted. Please keep in mind, thousands of attendees gain access to this form once the sale begins. Accessing the form within the first few minutes doesn’t guarantee you’ll get your first-choice hotel. Approximately one week after the sale, confirmations of hotel placements will be sent.

General Housing

COMIC-CON 2025 GENERAL HOTEL SALE NOW OPEN!

Note that all rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and we encourage you to act quickly if you are still in need of accommodations.

A limited number of additional accommodations have opened up for general housing! This includes all remaining rooms within Comic-Con’s exclusive hotel block, with live room availability updated in real time on our booking site.

As Comic-Con approaches, room availability may fluctuate frequently due to ongoing changes and cancellations, and rooms in downtown hotels could become available at that time.

Please be aware that cancellation-and-change policies apply. Fees may be incurred for any modifications to your reservation, and these fees cannot be excused or waived. Be sure to review the cancellation-and-change dates carefully when booking.

Note that all rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require a deposit at the time of booking. We encourage you to act quickly if you are still in need of accommodations when general housing opens.

Policy information

Hotel Deposit & Payment Policy

A non-refundable service and technology fee equal to 3% of each hotel deposit will be charged to the credit card provided for each reservation. Any change to a reservation that increases the required hotel deposit amount, such as extending the length of stay, changing to a more expensive room type, changing hotels, etc., will incur an additional non-refundable service and technology fee in the amount of 3% of the additional deposit amount. All charges will appear as “Comic-Con 2025 Hotels” on the user’s credit card statement.

Full payment will be due for your hotel reservation(s) at the time of check-out. Each hotel’s payment policies vary; the date that your total balance is due will be dependent upon the policies of your hotel. All hotels place a deposit on your credit card or debit card when you check in and charge the balance at check-out. Please refer to your confirmation for specific hotel policies.

Fine Print Reminders

  • Hotel rates include a $10.00 per night reimbursement to San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) to help defray shuttle and convention costs (this charge is subject to change). San Diego city blocks are small compared to other cities and take approximately 2–3 minutes to walk. You may find that walking in the morning is a great way to explore San Diego and find new places for dinner, lunch, or shopping.
  • Reservations are booked based on room availability. Bed type and special requests are not guaranteed. All special requests will be noted with the hotel, but are subject to hotel availability at the time of check-in.
  • Hotels in San Diego charge a Transient Occupancy tax of 11.75 – 13.75%. The exact tax rate is determined by the hotel’s location/zone. For further details, please visit Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT)/Tourism Marketing District (TMD) | City of San Diego Official Website TOT, Transient Occupancy Tax. A Tourism Marketing assessment of 2% will apply, and parking fees may be added, all of which are subject to change without notice. Hotel rates are not guaranteed until booked and confirmed. Hotel rates may vary by number of occupants and other requested services. SDCC and onPeak reserve the right to correct any identified errors.
  • Responsibility and liability: SDCC and/or its agents act only in the capacity as agents for customers in all matters pertaining to hotel accommodations and transportation whether by railroad, automobile, airplane, or any other means, and as such are not responsible for any damage, expense, or inconvenience caused by train or plane arrivals or departures, or by any change of schedule, or condition from any loss, injury, or damage to any person or property from any cause whatsoever. Baggage handling throughout the program is entirely at the owner’s risk. The customer agrees that show management and/or its agents shall not be held responsible in the event of any error or omission in any promotional material.
  • User experience may vary depending on device and browser used.

Please Note: While SDCC has worked with onPeak to try and make the hotel reservation experience fair for everyone, it is possible that problems outside of our control could result in the system not working as planned. The possibility exists that anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware software may aggressively block browser cookies, JavaScript, or other operations of modern web applications. It is also possible that user error, specific hardware problems, local ISP issues, email delivery issues, or simply the extremely high level of demand beyond our control may result in your computer and/or browser not behaving as expected.
