If you are looking to get creative, learn something new, or refine existing skills, there is no better place than Room 3, home of the How-To panels. Started over 15 years ago by the late Clydene Nee, How-To panels have a long history of giving attendees practical knowledge on a variety of creative topics. Clydene passed away late last year.

Tonight at 8:00 pm (Room 3), Comic-Con will remember Clydene with Javier Velasco (Comic-Con How-To Panels coordinator), Brian Haberlin (Witchblade and Anomaly Productions), Lorran Garrison (Little Brainstorm), and Jags Nee (JAGS). For those who may not know, it was Clydene, a former comic-book colorist herself, who first dreamed of creating a track of programming dedicated to capturing the genuine moments of the love for creating art she witnessed every year between attendees and creators when she ran Artists’ Alley. Attendees are encouraged to come and share their fond memories of Clydene as the panel honors her memory.

The How-To panels are a big part of Clydene’s legacy. The How-To Panels department strives to make sure the fun “vibe” of the room leads to an elevated experience for attendees. In years past, How-to panels have featured a vast array of Artists’ Alley favorites as well as comic legends such as Jim Lee and Kim Jung Gi. This year many other legends will participate.

The How-to panels explore everything from sketching to cosplay, including a chance to slow down and interact directly with creative professionals during live drawings and demonstrations. In recent years, these great offerings have expanded by facilitating audience participation in draw-alongs (supplies provided) with artists such as Adam Hughes and Allison Sohn, who will be returning this year for more marker magic (Friday,1:30 pm – 3:00 pm). See the website/app for more information. Also be sure to download the Comic-Con Souvenir Book for the piece on Clydene in the In Memoriam section https://www.comic-con.org/cc/publications/

P.O.W.E.R. Drawings

Think you missed your shot? In true superhero spirit, the P.O.W.E.R. (Previously Offered Wristbands: Extra Redemption) Drawing gives attendees one last shot at scoring an Exclusive Signing Portal wristband!

Did you miss out on an Exclusive Signing (ES) that was in the Comic-Con 2025 Exclusives Portal? Sixty (60) minutes before the start of an ES Portal signing, a special drawing may be held in the Autograph Area for any unclaimed wristbands, if available. This is your chance to swoop in and claim a spot that was previously awarded but not redeemed.

The Autograph Area online schedule will list the P.O.W.E.R. Drawing lineup time and location, as well as the drawing time for each ES Portal signing. If there are no unclaimed wristbands, there will be no drawing. The drawing will follow the Autograph Area Line Drawing procedure, so be sure you’re familiar with how it works (see page 74 of the Events Quick Guide).

Like any good origin story, this might be your unexpected opportunity to become a part of something epic. Good luck.

I think she’s been getting a little too much screen time.
