Hotel Sales
Below is a general overview of the hotel events that take place for Comic-Con each year. When a sale has been announced for the current year, a button will appear in the relevant section below with details on how to participate!
Two hotel sales take place leading up to Comic-Con. In the fall, our first sale features accommodations in the non-downtown areas, often with early booking incentives. This sale is known as the Early Bird Hotel Sale.
Spring brings our most sought-after hotel event, which includes hotels in Downtown San Diego. Due to high demand, this sale begins with a virtual waiting room that places participants in a randomized queue. This sale is known as the General Hotel Sale.
In the final weeks leading up to Comic-Con, rooms from the General Hotel Sale may become available on a first-come, first-served basis if inventory is returned.

FALL 2025
Early Bird Hotel Sale
This sale will feature hotels in Mission Valley, near the airport, and other non-downtown areas. Many are on the complimentary Comic-Con Shuttle route, and others are within walking distance to the trolley. As an added bonus, some of our Early Bird hotels also include incentives for booking early.
Staying in these areas is a great way to save time and money. Please keep this in mind: Only book a room IF you have a Comic-Con 2026 badge! Early Bird Hotel reservations are full prepay and NON-REFUNDABLE. A non-refundable service and technology fee equal to 3% of each hotel deposit will also be charged to the credit card provided for each reservation.
The Early Bird Hotel Sale is a great way to ensure you have a hotel reservation for Comic-Con 2026! Downtown hotels are limited and in much higher demand during the General Hotel Sale.
Spring 2026
General Hotel Sale
Each year, hotel rooms for Comic-Con sell out in a matter of minutes and downtown hotels are in high demand.
The General Hotel Sale for Comic-Con 2026 will open in the spring. To allow attendees to prepare for opening day, a preview of the hotel list with rates and locations will be provided ahead of the sale.
NEW FOR 2026: The process will shift to a live-sale format, allowing participants to make reservations in real time based on a randomized queue.
On the day the sale begins, you’ll enter the virtual waiting room within a designated time frame. Everyone in the waiting room will be assigned a random place in line, and guests will then be moved from the waiting room to the hotel reservation page based on this order. A maximum of two (2) rooms will be allowed at time of booking. There will also be an option to place your hotel reservation over the phone during that time. Please be prepared to experience high call volume. Guests joining the waiting room after the sort will be placed behind the sorted list.
Please keep in mind that thousands of attendees will access the reservation system once the sale begins. Rooms will sell out quickly, and inventory is not reserved until the payment is processed. Because reservations will now be made in real time, a non-refundable deposit equal to two nights’ room rate plus tax is required at the time of booking. A non-refundable service and technology fee equal to 3% of each hotel deposit will also be charged to the credit card provided for each reservation.
IMPORTANT: The credit card used for the General Hotel Sale must remain valid through the duration of Comic-Con 2026. Please make sure the credit card you use to book your hotel expires in August 2026 or later.
Last-Minute Possibilities
Most reservations will be made during the initial hours of the General Hotel Sale. However, you may still have another opportunity to book a room as Comic-Con approaches. The hotel reservation page will remain open to offer any rooms that become available due to cancellations. Rooms at various hotels, including downtown hotels, could become available at that time. If this occurs, no public announcement will be made about availability.
Please be aware that cancellation-and-change policies apply. Fees may be incurred for any modifications to your reservation, and these fees cannot be excused or waived. Be sure to review the cancellation-and-change dates carefully when booking.
Note that all rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require a deposit equal to two nights’ room rate plus tax at the time of booking. A non-refundable service and technology fee equal to 3% of each hotel deposit will also be charged to the credit card provided for each reservation. We encourage you to check back frequently and act quickly if you are still in need of accommodations when rooms become available.
