The primary responsibilities for the Maker Educator are to guide museum learners through maker-based learning experiences, in the form of drop-in and scheduled programming. The Maker Educator helps to design and implement a STEAM curriculum that leverages project-based learning. The Maker Educator will assist the Director of Education in helping the museum guests and learners honor their fandoms through the production of related artifacts, like costumes, mini-figures, and more.

The Retail Operations Lead will serve in a multi-faceted assistant role to the Retail Operations Manager. They will assist directly with the management and maintenance of museum retail operations, guest services, ticketing, membership sales, and museum exhibits/events/operations/activities, as needed. They will also assist in the management of retail and ticketing team members and the various activities involved in those business units. They will routinely run retail and ticketing points of sales systems and work directly with museum guests. The Retail Operations Lead will work to achieve sales goals in retail, as well as provide exemplary guest service in ticketing and access control – all while aligning with the San Diego Comic Convention mission.

Retail and Ticketing Associates are the primary team members to interface with museum guests. They welcome guests to the museum, work museum programs and event rentals, sell merchandise and tour tickets, and answer general inquiries about the museum and community services from the visiting public. Retail and Ticketing Associates assist with the daily operations of the museum, including opening and closing, guest relations, sales, customer service, and special events. Retail and Ticketing Associates work to achieve sales and create an exemplary guest experience while promoting the San Diego Comic-Con mission.

The Rights and Clearances Assistant (RCA), reporting to the Rights and Clearances Manager, will be responsible for processing requests for the usage of organizational assets, including footage, trademarks, and brand assets; this role ensures compliance with established standards and guidelines. The RCA will assist the Rights and Clearances Manager in technical tasks like backing up panel footage and scanning archive photos. Additionally, the RCA will acquire, catalog, and manage digital assets for archival purposes and support marketing efforts by mailing printed materials to local comic shops or other selected venues.
