Writer, editor, publisher; author, 75 Years of DC Comics
Paul Levitz has been a comics fan (editor of The Comic Reader, winner of two Best Fanzine Comic Art Fan Awards), editor (Batman), writer (Legion of Super-Heroes, including the acclaimed “Great Darkness Saga”), and staffer (38 years at DC, ending as President & Publisher). He serves on the boards of BOOM! Studios, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, and the Clarion Foundation, does consulting, teaches at New York-area colleges, and continues to write comics and about popular culture.
Levitz has received the Inkpot, Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award, the ComicPro Industry Appreciation Award, and Dick Giordano Humanitarian Award, and his 75 Years of DC Comics: The Art of Modern Myth-Making has won the Eisner and international awards. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Hall of Fame in 2019. His most recent series is The Visitor from Valiant, his newest graphic novel is Unfinished Business from Dark Horse, and the latest reprint collection he edited is The 1980s: End of An Era from DC.
