Harbor Drive Restrictions Planned for Comic-Con 2023
Initiatives Geared Towards Safety, Security, and Enhanced Pedestrian Experience
During Comic-Con 2023, measures will be implemented to ensure utmost safety and security. To achieve this, temporary restrictions will be placed on access to Harbor Drive, located in front of the San Diego Convention Center, throughout the duration of the annual convention.
The San Diego Convention Center, in partnership with the Port of San Diego and the City of San Diego, are providing information to assist attendees, the general public and stakeholders about pedestrian and vehicular access, restrictions and detours during Comic-Con.
Specifically, the segment of Harbor Drive situated between First Avenue and Park Boulevard will be completely closed off to all forms of vehicular traffic. This includes cars, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and shared mobility devices such as dockless bicycles and scooters. To ensure the smooth functioning of the event, these restrictions will be enforced during designated days and times:
- Wednesday, July 19 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Thursday, July 20 from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Friday, July 21 from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Saturday, July 22 from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Sunday, July 23 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM
The only exceptions will be emergency vehicles and ADA mobility devices.
A valid Comic-Con 2022 badge or confirmed registration in hand is required for access to any part of the San Diego Convention Center, including the front drive, terraces, sidewalks, Plaza Park area, or the Ace Parking underground garage during the event times listed above.
