Do you have a comic-con member ID?

Anyone who wishes to purchase, apply for, or register for a Comic-Con or WonderCon badge must have a Comic-Con Member ID account.

Comic-Con Member ID

To access our Member ID Portal, click “Member ID”  in the upper right-hand corner of our website, and bookmark the page for easy access.

The Comic-Con Member ID Portal is where you create and manage your Comic-Con Member ID account. As a one-stop shop, it is also where badge registration events for both Comic-Con and WonderCon take place!

If you no longer have access to the email connected to your Member ID account, please contact us by submitting a contact form.

What is a comic-con member ID account?

A Comic-Con Member ID account is how you access registration events for Comic-Con and WonderCon. Here’s what you need to know:

  • You must be age 13 or older to register for a Member ID
  • Only one Member ID is allowed per person
  • Each account must have a valid and unique email address
  • Accounts cannot be transferred
  • Member ID registration is free and does not reserve or guarantee you a badge

Click the options below to learn more!

Membership Type

Each Member ID must be set with the account holder’s membership type. Membership types include:

  • Junior (age 13-17)
  • Adult (age 18-59)
  • Active Duty Military
  • Senior (60+)

You will not be eligible to participate in any registration event until your Member ID account is complete.

Email Communication

Customize your opt-in preferences by logging in to your Member ID account and clicking “My Account Information”. If you want to receive important registration information, select “Yes” from the dropdown for “Do you want to receive marketing emails?”. On the same page, there are three additional opt-in preferences you can customize.

By signing up for a Comic-Con Member ID, you may receive official updates, important registration announcements, access to selected sales, and other information about attending Comic-Con, WonderCon, and related conventions and events. You may also receive emails from our registration partners regarding Comic-Con, WonderCon, or related convention and event registration, and from our hotel reservation company regarding hotel information for Comic-Con, WonderCon, and related conventions and events.

Order History

Access your order history by logging in to your Member ID account and clicking “My Orders”. Anything you purchase, apply for, or register for is considered an order.

Shipping Address

If you register for a badge that is eligible for advance shipping, it will be sent to the “Primary Shipping Address” that is on file in your Member ID account as of the badge shipping deadline. Please keep the shipping address on your Member ID account current. To add or update your shipping address, log in to your Member ID account and click “My Addresses”.

If your primary address is where you want badges mailed, click “Edit”, check the box next to “Primary Shipping Address“, and click “Save”.

If your primary address is correct but you want your badges to be mailed elsewhere, click “+Add Address”. Enter your shipping address information, check the box next to “Primary Shipping Address”, and click “Save”.

Exhibitor badges may also be eligible for advance shipping. If you’re an approved exhibitor, please see your Comic-Con GoExpo Exhibitor Profile for more information as your requirements will be different.

Purchasing For Others

When you participate in a registration event that allows you to register others, you will need their Member ID and last name. You must enter their last name exactly as it appears on their Member ID account. This includes special characters, suffixes, and punctuation.

Children (12 and under)

Children (ages 12 and under) may not register for a Member ID. You may register a child on-site for free at the Registration Area as long as that child is accompanied by a registered adult badge holder.

Children must be present to be registered for a badge, and the registered adult badge holder will be required to provide emergency contact information for any child registrant. Please see our child badge policy for more information.

Families

Families can not share a single Member ID account. Each person in your family that is at least 13 years of age and wishes to attend one of our events must have their own Member ID registered with a unique email address.

If someone in your household needs to create a Member ID account, please make sure you are logged out of your own Member ID account before they do so. We strongly recommend you follow along with our step-by-step instructions in the “How To Register” section below. Your Member ID account must be complete to participate in registration events.

Payment Method

Saving a payment method to your Member ID account is not required. However, it does save you time if you participate in a badge sale that has a time limit to register your badges. Every second counts! To save a credit or debit card to your account, log in to your Member ID account, select “My Payment Methods”, then click “+ Credit card”.

If someone in your household needs to create a Member ID account, please make sure you are logged out of your own Member ID account before they do so. We strongly recommend you follow along with our step-by-step instructions in the “How To Register” section below. Your Member ID account must be complete to participate in registration events.

How to register

Member ID registration is free of charge and only takes a few minutes. Only one Member ID is allowed per person—please do not attempt to create multiple Member ID accounts.  If you do not have a Member ID account, please follow the steps below.

1. Visit the Member ID Portal.

Create a Member ID or log in to your existing Member ID account through the Member ID Portal. You can access the Member ID Portal at any time by clicking the Member ID link in the upper right-hand corner of the Comic-Con website.

2. Choose a Member ID you can remember!

It’s important to remember the Member ID you choose. Not only is your Member ID required to participate in badge sales, but it may also be used as a form of verification when you’re on-site or corresponding with customer service. If someone wants to purchase a badge for you, they’ll need your correct Member ID.

Member ID Account Information Part 2

3. Provide a long-term email address.

Register your Member ID account with an email address that you check regularly. Important registration information such as badge confirmations and announcements are sent via email so long as you have opted in.

4.Complete the rest of your account information accurately.

If someone purchases a badge for you, they’ll need your Member ID and last name. If your last name includes any spaces or special characters, they will need to enter your last name exactly as it appears on your Member ID account. Please make sure your information is correct before clicking “Next”.

Member ID Email Verification

5. Verify your email address.

On the next page, you’ll be asked to verify your email. Check your email inbox, or SPAM folder, for an email with the subject line: “*Action Required* Member ID Account Email Verification”. Enter the verification code found in that email, then click “Verify”.

Congratulations! You now have your very own Comic-Con Member ID account.

Please follow all the steps above to complete your account creation. Member ID registration does not reserve or guarantee you a badge. You will not be eligible to participate in any badge sale until your Member ID account is complete. Your chance of purchasing badge(s) is not influenced in any way by the information you provide during Member ID registration. Duplicate Member ID registrations will be automatically canceled. If badges were already purchased by the member, they will be automatically canceled, less a 10% processing fee and the handling fee, at SDCC’s sole discretion.

NOTE:

The creation of a Member ID account is NOT a badge purchase or badge registration. Please check the BADGES sections of our website for information on badge sales for Comic-Con and WonderCon.

Please visit the Member ID Portal and click the “Forgot Member ID” link. Enter the email associated with your Member ID account and you will be sent an email with your requested information.

If you no longer have access to the email account that you originally used to register, you will need to contact Comic-Con directly to update your email address. Please do not attempt to create a second Member ID account.

I have a new email address and/or phone number. How do I change it on my account?

Log in to your Member ID account and go to your Account Dashboard.

Click “My Account Information” to update your email address or phone number.

Click “My Addresses” to update your address. If your primary address is where you want badges mailed, click “Edit”, check the box next to “Primary Shipping Address”, and click “Save”.

If your primary address is correct but you want your badges to be mailed elsewhere, click “+Add Address”. Enter your shipping address information, check the box next to “Primary Shipping Address”, and click “Save”.

Will I need to sign up for a Member ID again next year?

No. You only need to sign up for a Comic-Con Member ID once. If you wish to purchase a badge for Comic-Con 2023 and beyond, you will use your same Member ID.

I share an email address with my partner or family member. Why do we each need a unique email address?

By requiring a unique email address for each Comic-Con Member ID, our goal is to increase the speed of the online registration process, prevent duplicate registrations, and prevent scalpers from reselling badges at inflated prices. Our hope is that the Member ID system will allow more fans to purchase badges for this very popular event.

Are there a limited number of Member IDs available?

Anyone (ages 13 and up) may register for a Member ID – they will not run out. Please note that duplicate email addresses are not allowed and each person may only have one Member ID. Duplicate Member ID registrations will be automatically deleted. If it is found that you have registered for more than one Member ID, San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) reserves the right to automatically cancel all of your Member ID accounts and refund, less a 10% processing fee and the handling fee, at SDCC’s sole discretion, any badge purchases made by those accounts.

Why haven’t I received emails from Comic-Con?

If you are not receiving emails from Comic-Con, it is possible that you have not opted in to email communication. To receive email notifications, log in to your Member ID account and click “My Account Information”. If you want to receive important registration information, select “Yes” from the dropdown for “Do you want to receive marketing emails?”. On the same page, there are three additional opt-in preferences you can customize. Remember, if you do not select “Yes” or do not check an OptIn box, you will not receive correspondence from that source.

important terms & conditions

By submitting a registration for a Comic-Con Member ID, you are consenting to your personal information being retained by third parties involved in administrative or operational aspects on behalf of SDCC. Your details will be saved for future badge sales and you will receive periodic registration and website administration updates from SDCC.

Please make sure the email address you provide is one to which you have long-term access.

Should you wish to remove yourself from the Comic-Con Member ID database, please submit a contact form. Please note that canceling your Member ID will mean you are no longer eligible to purchase, apply, or register for a Comic-Con or WonderCon badge, and will need to re-register should you wish to buy badges in the future. If you have already purchased a badge for Comic-Con or WonderCon, that badge will be canceled and the purchase price, less a 10% processing fee and the handling fee at SDCC’s sole discretion, will be refunded if the membership cancellation was requested before the refund deadline.

Children (ages 12 and under) may not register for a Comic-Con Member ID.

Registration for a Comic-Con Member ID does not reserve or guarantee you a badge. A Comic-Con Member ID is required to log in to the online registration system only, and does not increase your chances of purchasing, applying, or registering for a badge. Your chance of buying a badge is not influenced in any way by the number of times you register, or the information you provide during registration. Multiple registrations will be deleted.

You must register for a Comic-Con Member ID in order to be eligible to purchase a badge. Also, anyone applying for press, professional, guest of professional, volunteer, department volunteer, or exhibitor key contact badges must sign up for a Comic-Con Member ID before they can request to register for a badge. If SDCC determines that you purchased or registered for a badge, but did not register for a Comic-Con Member ID, SDCC has the right to cancel your badge and refund any amounts paid, less a 10% processing fee and the handling fee, at SDCC’s sole discretion.

SDCC will periodically review all Member ID accounts, and if duplicates are found, they will be automatically deleted. You may not register for more than one Member ID account. If a deleted account had an associated Comic-Con or related event badge, that badge will be automatically canceled, less a 10% processing fee and the handling fee.

Although SDCC makes efforts to ensure the purchase of badges is easy, efficient, and equitable, SDCC makes no guarantee, warranty, or representation that, by logging onto the website with a Comic-Con Member ID, you are entitled to or will be able to purchase a badge. Due to the limited number of badges and the large volume of Comic-Con Member ID holders, badges are sold as long as they are available. Please be advised that Comic-Con badges sell out very quickly. Not all persons eligible to purchase a badge will be able to purchase a badge. Additionally, SDCC makes no guarantee, warranty, or representation that the website will function properly throughout the badge sales process. In the event that the SDCC website malfunctions, SDCC will try to rectify the problem in a timely fashion. Notwithstanding, by using the website you agree that IN NO EVENT SHALL SDCC, ITS PRINCIPALS, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THE WEBSITE OR THE BADGE SALE AND REGISTRATION PROCESS.

A Comic-Con Member ID has no monetary value. By registering for a Comic-Con Member ID, you agree not to sell or trade your Member ID and further you agree that if you do so, San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) has the right to cancel your Member ID. SDCC reserves the right to refuse admission, to refuse service and/or to cancel/revoke your Member ID and/or badge at SDCC’s discretion.
